Marcelo Peña is a lawyer with extensive experience in criminal law, human rights litigation, and complex criminal proceedings. He has acted as defense counsel in more than 150 oral trials and has developed significant experience in matters involving due process, public administration, and institutional accountability.
His professional background also includes more than ten years of experience in administrative proceedings and criminal defense in connection with Internal Affairs matters within the Ministry of Security of the Province of Buenos Aires. This experience has given him a strong understanding of proceedings involving public officials, institutional responsibility, and the protection of procedural guarantees.
Throughout his practice, Marcelo has focused on ensuring effective legal representation and protecting fundamental rights in complex criminal and administrative proceedings, particularly where criminal justice, state action, and individual guarantees intersect.
Marcelo received his law degree from the Faculty of Legal Sciences of the National University of La Plata. He holds a postgraduate specialization in Criminal Law and a Master’s degree in Criminal Law and Criminalistics from Universidad Austral.
In addition to his professional practice, he has actively participated in academic and professional institutions. He served as Coordinator of the academic event of the Ibero-American Congress on Criminal Procedural Law held at the Colegio de Abogados de La Plata and as Secretary of its Institute of Criminal Law.
